Carol Schram: Back on the ice, new jersey numbers, and G prospect Koskenvuo impresses We're getting closer to training camp, as the informal skates before the less informal skates have begun in Vancouver. Also, a couple of engagements, new jersey numbers for the 2021-22 season, and a strong weekend of action for Canucks goaltending prospect Aku Koskenvuo of Finland at the Four Nations Cup.

Thanks Carol

So Edler now can not have his number retired for 6 more years

Aku Koskenvuo has been lights out so far . Jim has his Finnish goalie now. Plenty of time for him to develop.

Sounds like Yogi Svejkovsky will be joining the VAN Canucks and Abbotsford Canucks as a skills coach.

Svejkovsky was with the Delta Academy.

Good move by the Canucks, Svejkovsky has worked with many NHL players over the years.

With summer coming to a close and players returning, there might be a little more to talk about for you and us.

According to Michael russo, they agreed on 5 year $9M AVV. Just finalizing the breakdown.

Great job as always Carol,

Looks like Garland is going to be the next player to be cursed with being unable to score because no player wearing #8 scores much.

Thanks Carol. Was wondering if you heard anything regarding an ECHL Affiliation? I was thinking about our goalie depth in particular. (DiPietro, Spencer Martin and Arturs Silov), I can imagine only two being on th AHL roster. With Kalamazoo joining up with Columbus is there any talk of the Canucks making a deal with Norfolk or Allen? I see they are the two left without an NHL club.

Edler will end up in the ring of honor one day, my guess, he meant a lot to the franchise over the years. He was really good during his prime and man he could hit like a freight train. Those days are long gone, but still one of the best to ever lace em up for the Canucks.

I think I had a tear in my eye there. Players get old though, time to move on.

Canucks never even used the Echl team for players. Just call ups they could get from any ECHL team.

I'd put Ohlund up in the ROH long before I'd ever do Edler, at least Ohlund knew when it was time to hang them up and never refused to waive his NTC/NMC when he could have been traded to help make the team better.
